Personal Business Trainer identifies seven traits of high performance individuals that allow them to achieve excellence in contribution to their businesses. It is this excellence in contribution that leads to enhanced opportunities within the company and faster promotions.

These seven traits are Exemplary Leader, Notably Insightful, Massively Confident, Quickly Decisive, Responsibly Charismatic, Results Rainmaker, and Success Driver. Each of these traits is treated separately within the pages tied to “PBT Program Goals”.


Most companies measure performance by results; not promises of results, not rumors of results, not excuses for the lack of results, but hard-core “this is what got done…” results.  Sometimes there is a mix of future expectations included in results measures – take a look at the stock market. Yet underneath these projections of future performance is typically a solid foundation of backwards looking strong results on key factors.

Results come in all forms and fashions, which is confusing for some and sometimes frustrating when being compared to others.  One person gets results by working diligently on the task at hand and plowing through a mountain of requirements.  Another person assembles a group and accomplishes a team’s worth of coordinated effort.  One person influences a critical decision maker at a critical time and lands a huge sale.  Another person changes the rules of the game and obtains unheard of results in unexpected arenas.

Results measurements are sometimes quantitative and measurable, especially at entry level roles in a business.  This number of transactions was accomplished; this amount of code was written; these required tests were completed.  Businesses thrive only because basic work goals are attacked and eradicated, leading to meeting customer needs and financial success in the marketplace.

As a person grows in their capabilities and experiences, results move from being tactically quantitative towards more abstract accomplishments like “influence” and “support” and “strategic”.  More time is spent interfacing, less time doing.  Conversation with others displaces time in front of a computer or a machine or a cash register. Decision making becomes more important than implementation and direction setting overshadows time management.

Yet wherever a person finds themselves in the results continuum, one thing is constant; results are expected and lots of results are better than lesser results.  As an individual with great potential, you have already demonstrated the ability to generate results, at least in your own personal responsibilities.  As an aspiring young leader, you must draw out the best in those around you and create larger and larger results over time and larger and larger results than expected by your sponsors.

Results are the rainfall that keeps a company growing.  Wherever you go in your career, you must be a Results Rainmaker with excellent impact observed by all those around you.
